gds32.dll is the last of the list ... it just indicates it's not found ANY
compatible client.
Just what odbc package are you installing for Perl? Not something I use, but
I've had fun in the past with older odbc driver packages which simply don't work.

Flamerobin is probably not using the gds32.dll ... did you try prior to adding
gds32.dll?
