Personally, I upgraded from 2.1 to 2.5.1 because of the new features I needed to take advantage of. I have ditched FreeUDFLib. I have also started using temporary tables to speed up certain complicated queries, that would otherwise have been too slow to implement.

Personally, I would just use the latest version, but I have recently had a Debian customer point out that there isn't a stable 2.5.1 build for them yet.

I recently changed from 2.1 to 2.5.1 and had no issues with anything needing to be changed on my side.

Sorry, I use Delphi XE2 and FIBPlus data access components.
