You do not say how the database is being populated. While Michael is right that
you might upgrade, the results may not be compatible with the existing software.
I have some legacy stuff that I have to maintain on FB1.5 since the structure of
the database would need to be changed to move to anything later, and currently
recompiling the application end is not even possible :(

So starting point - what else are you using with Firebird?
