Same story on Windows/MinGW:

cd D:\Opt\Firebird25\examples\api
gcc -LD:\Opt\Firebird25\lib api1.o -lfbclient_ms
: fine
gcc -LD:\Opt\Firebird25\lib -lfbclient_ms api1.o
api1.o:api1.c:(.text+0xd0): undefined reference to `isc_dsql_execute_immediate@28'
api1.o:api1.c:(.text+0xe2): undefined reference to `isc_sqlcode@4'
