out of the box, Centos 5 don't have good version of tools to build
Firebird 2.5

so may be you can build it, but you need to patch the build process or
to update your self some tools need to build Firebird 2.5
(sorry I don't remember exactly what was not correct, but build chain on
Centos 5 is too old to build Firebird 2.5)

or you can use the tar.gz build provided by Firebird Project
