You probably need to remember that PHP4 has been end of life since 2007, and the
interbase driver on PHP4 was never updated after Firebird came into existence,
so it would be difficult to debug a modern Firebird on that old a client
interface? What is the problem with upgrading to PHP5 ... it would be a lot
easier to fix that and bring everything up to date first. We had been running
PHP4 compatible code up until the end of life and apart from some annoying
changes in PHP5.2 and PHP5.3 making the code run is not too difficult.
