I think that these info could be very useful for Firebird newcomers (and
not only...). Maybe I did look hard enough, but I did not find anything
similar.

IMHO a good idea would be to put these info in some documentation easily
reached by users, something like the quick start guide.
If the problem is finding somebody to write the docs I would be glad to
do it.
