Subject Re: [firebird-support] Firebird Backup using gbak when database is opened. Is it safe?

Both can operate on a database while it is in use. gbak works on a
logical level record for record and thus will validate data at restore
time, while nbackup works at physical page level. gbak can't do
incremental backups while nbackup is designed to do that. gbak can
garbage collect while nbackup can't. So, both are designed for different
purposes but both are online backup utilities.

Your choice. ;-)
