I don't have data for unix, but have for Windows - no big difference
in performance between 32 and 64 bits.
64bit Windows a bit (4-6%) faster than 32bit, and
Firebird 64 bit also a bit faster (3-4%) than Firebird 32 bit
on 64bit Windows.
So, the overall performance increase using 64bit OS can be about 7-12%.
