today linux Distro that are Firebird "friendly" (I mean Firebird
packaged and maintained) are :
Debian and derivative (like Ubuntu)
Fedora and derivative (RHEL, Centos, Scientific Linux)
Mandriva
OpenSuse
Mageia


My personal choice are :
for server : Debian
for desktop : Mageia and Fedora
