Munster,

Moving to a different RDBMS is not a solution to a problem. You should
help the developers resolve the issue, by providing detailed information
about your environment and the problem you are experiencing. Firebird
2.5 has been released quite a while ago and no one has complained by
saying that it wasn't usable. In fact, I have been using it as well and
I haven't had any issues with it, nor have I had issues with some
software running under FB 2.1.

You should try to investigate further and see if you can provide more
information so that the developers or FB users can help you with your
problem.
