I used the Employee sample database in Firebird 2.5 with the latest odbc driver. I linked those tables to an Access front end and was able to select, insert, update and delete data with both DAO and ADO.
So far it looks like locking and the MGA seems to be working.
I haven't tried to do this in a multi user environment but since you say that readers don't block writers and writers don't block readers and that a problem only occurs if two writes try to write to the same record at the same time. You also said that the MGA works all the time and cannot be switched off. Very valuable info indeed. Thanks. H.F.
