Subject RE: [firebird-support] Firebird network installation questions
Author Smith, Richard G.
Thanks to everyone for your very helpful answers. And thanks for putting them in "layman's" language! Auraila and Musition are not music production programs. No big .wav or sample files are produced. All of the music functions are MIDI based and are packaged with the software. In Auralia the student's singing responses are probably only evaluated but not recorded in any other way. I'm pretty sure the central database is only for centralized evaluation and record keeping and is probably the only server function. Everything else is based on a local machine.

I have looked over Rising Software's documentation and am awaiting an e-mail response from them. Most of what they write about the network functions is just a little above my computer knowledge so it's difficult for me to sort out. I've learned a good deal from your responses and will save them all for reference. Thanks so much. I am grateful.

It's worth doing a little homework before answering ;)

Rising Software seem to have done quite a nice job on this ... It is just that
there information is a little questonable in some areas.
