Zeos = Evil in respect to transaction handling. Haven't checked lately,
so it might got better over time, but last time I checked, Zeos only
supported commit/rollback retaining. Hard commits are only available at
disconnect. AFAIR.

I would check what's going on under the hood. Perhaps Zeos does have
some kind of specialized SQL monitor or as you are using Firebird 2.5,
you could grep a trial copy of FB TraceManager Enterprise Edition and
see what's going on. ;-)
