after I created an index in a second table, the execution time decreased
immediately.

maybe you didn't create an index
because
i execute a query to a table without index and execution time was 1,388 sec
but after creating index the same query's execution time was 0,047 sec after
creating index you should compile in SQL Manager for Firebird
