You've made a bit of a leap in your logic. Giving Firebird access to more
RAM won't help performance unless the performance problem you're having is
excessive disk I/O. Is it?
Even if the problem appears to be excessive disk I/O, the real cause may be
badly optimized
(or badly formulated) queries.
