Obviously.

But the question was, how to move as painlessly as possible from
Interbase to Firebird, and Firebird 1.5 fits the bill nicely. Firebird
2.0 or higher would require more significant changes (e.g. its TIMESTAMP
fields contain milliseconds, unlike 1.5, and that can be a problem for
some applications - e.g. mine, since it is using a set of DB access
components which discard the milliseconds part even if it exists in the
database...).
