>Yes, I have Helen Borrie's "The Firebird Book" but I am afraid of being itMy copy is from the Firebird 1.5 days, and I must say now that I'm getting into Firebird 2.1 properly, I am finding it a bit of a pain (and I'm starting to wonder where I put the printed out supplement I was sent for the Firebird 2.1 notes...but I'm usually in a rush, so just google it instead )

I am considering just passing this book on to the tech support guys who write the occasional simple SQL for a custom report, and buying the latest copy which includes all the latest Firebird 2 stuff for myself. (I presume the latest copy has the Firebird 2 stuff included, and is not in a separate booklet)
I'd say Helen's book is the best you're going to get at the moment with regards to a well organised collection of Firebird information...
>I think we need an actual version of the Helen Borrie's book, one whichSounds like you have an old one, but I'm not sure if Helen has done a Firebird 2.5 or 3.0 one yet, since the database is still in development...
>cover all the changes and additions since 1.5, Firebird will have soon its
>2.5 and 3.0 versions, Helen's book seems to be out of date.
>I had not found a good Firebird's page, neither the firebirdfaq.org is goodI recently looked up a few of the new FB 2.5 features, and found the best material on some Oracle sites... Since they are a SQL standard, you don't necessarily have to always look on a Firebird site, but, I agree, it would be nice to be able to read up on that on the Firebird site eventually.
>enough. Is not bad, but is not good enough. Excuse me if I am not polite.
>That's why I am asking for recent books, articles and docs.
This group is also a fantastic place to get help, so if you're getting stuck finding something in the documentation, try post some queries here. It does also help loads if you know the correct terminology to google...
