Hi,
We have a very weird problem.
On one PC, restoring a backup either says is completes successfully, but
most the database is missing. Or, it just hangs part way through, so
badly the firebird service won't even reset. We have to reboot the whole
PC.
This is a 64 bit machine, running 32 bit Firebird (we use FreeUDFLib
UDF, so can't use the 64 bit version)
We started with Firebird 1.5.4, but changed to 2.1.3 in the hope things
would be different, but the nature of the problem is still exactly the
same.
We have checked for anti-virus, or anything that might be interfering
with the FDB file and explain the hanging.
Below are the Firebird 2.1 restore results:
gbak:opened file C:\OMNI\DCC\Backup\DCC1231PM_2010-07-20_15-10-22.gbk
gbak:transportable backup -- data in XDR format
gbak: backup file is compressed
gbak:created database C:\OMNI\DCC\Data\DCC.FDB, page_size 4096 bytes
gbak:started transaction

gbak:creating indexes
gbak: committing metadata
gbak:finishing, closing, and going home
it has skipped all stored procedures, and all data, and indexes.
Restored file is only 3MB, but original was 18MB.
Any idea of what we can try next?
Thanks
Maya
