One additional piece of information. We are considering upgrading this database to Firebird 2.5 as the following tracker items are fixed in that release.

I know that the lock manager has been changed to be database specific. As this particular server only hosts two databases and only one is under major load, I imagine the same lock hash slots and lock mem size settings that recommended for Firebird 2.1 would be recommended for Firebird 2.5.
