I do not speak for the administrators here, but from what I know of them, it's not about "being in charge" (since they all have day jobs too), but an issue of convenience to support something to which they have given years of their lives; it's about convenience. Here and now, you have the people that administer the project, track the bugs, write the code and wrote the book. If it is to be successful it almost HAS to be tied to the project the way this list is (although one might argue the tie is very loose here).

It's not that I would oppose it; I wouldn't use it. I wouldn't use it because 1) I have a day job, 2) don't want to register to ANOTHER forum (currently I have a list of 22 I follow), and 3) have all the help I need here.

So, you are asking the people that give away hours of free time every year to double up their support work. Do you honestly think that will fly simply to get away from threading/sorting email or using Yahoo Groups UI?

I'd have to say...no....
