many things are the same...
If you intend to continue working in the Interbase environment, then, yes, I
would suggest you back it up using the Interbase version and matched gbak
which the database expects. Then restore it to the Interbase version you
wish to now use.
If you want to use Firebird, then the same applies but of course you will
need to restore it to Firebird and you may need to check the metadata for
differences between versions.
That said - "unsupported disk strucure" is usually associated with trying to
run a newer database structure on an older server... could this be correct?
