Hmm... it depends on what you call "reliable", imho. I would use MON$XXX
tables only and not use header page stats. It gives consistent and reliable
(as for me) point of view. At least you always could find OAT transaction in
MON$TRANSACTIONS and MIN(MON$TRANSACTION_ID) and explain to user what is what.
