Just that not all client libraries or GUI components or what not can
handle Unicode.

If you want to use Unicode ALL your stuff has to (should) use Unicode,
including GUI widgets, text file I/O, database access components, etc.

If you already have full Unicode support "everywhere" except in the DB,
I see any reason not to switch to Unicode in the DB.
