Yes, Classic is generally recommended for multi-core servers.
BUT, it is a bit harder to configure and maintain.
You may also run multiple instances of SuperServer, one for each database.

Changing server architecture may not solve your performance issue and
may bring other problems to the table.
Ideally, the first thing you should do is identify what is going wrong.
