There are debug versions for all of the platforms, that are tied to the BugCheckAbort parameter in firebird.conf. I suggest you ask on firebird-devel for a clear procedure for starting the debugger and collecting the coredumps.

Also - I guess you have considered issues like whether you are using the right kit for your platform (x86 vs x86-64) and kernel version (possible threading issues if your kernel does not support NPTL threading, or does not support it well...) ?
