It would be interesting to compare your case in v2.1.2 vs v2.5, as so
far I suspect that it's temporary blobs (MON$SQL_TEXT column) that
wastes so much memory, and it has been improved in v2.5.
As for the join performance, I have to admit it's unlikely you can
improve it currently. Something to think about in future versions.
