this case same with my application. but my application slow response if my table have 50.000 record :
� 1. Development with delphi 6 / client dataset
� 2. read / write 8 table run at this time and have 50 computer client
� 3. server with windows 2000, RAM 2 gb
� 4. every condition (Order by and Where SQL Statement) i create index
every 1 month i move all recard to backup database. my application runing fast if database after run backup/restore and have record <50,000.
so many user client ? or wrong at my application ?

Have you looked at www.firebirdfaq. org/faq13/ ? Particularly note the
second point, that's a very common reason for a database to gradually
slow down.
