Does this help:

DSN=<dsn_name>;User=<username>;PWD=<password>;Dbname=<server>:<pathname>

Note that you need to use the ODBC Connection Manager to set up the DSN
(or do it programatically, which is a chore for the programmer but
simpler for end users).
