Hello All -
I have seen this only in Windows platform but not in Linux. I am using Firebird 2.1.1 version of server and Windows XP. The scenario is like this -
I am using a Firebird database. I disconnect my connection to the database and replace the database file with a newer one. The new database may or may not have same schema (I always had the same schema and newer data). After then I try to connect to the database again and it takes long time for the first time (5 minutes - 15 minutes). After the first connection no matter how many times I disconnect and reconnect the connection is instant. If I replace the file again same thing will happen for the first connection.
I have tried this with clients like ISQL, IBExpert and our application and could reproduce this. Is there anything I should be aware of? When I try the same in Linux platform the problem is not there at all.
I also never saw this problem with Firebird 2.0.x series.
I will appreciate any replies.
Regards,
Niben
