you mean... after issuing "gfix -buffers 0" than "gstat -h" shows page
buffers <> 0 (page buffers = default value from firebird.conf) ???

Have never seem that... I've tried Firebird 1.5.5 Windows (SS) and Linux
(CS) and also Firebird 2.1.1 on linux (CS) and this do not happen at all.

gstat shows page buffers = ZERO ... meaning default page buffers from
firebird.conf is being used.

What FB version have you seem that?
