I tried to make this argument to the other FB admins, a couple of years ago, but didn't get anywhere.

(I also think that "x64" is more obvious as a platform-neutral 64 bit option, AMD64 suggest a build specifically for AMD CPUs)

Perhaps it is time for someone else to try, on the devel list.
