Got it resolved thanks. Didnt realise that the 32bit ODBC connection applet was located in C:\Windows\SysWOW64\odbcad32.exe who would have thought the 32bit version was located in the 64bit folder. This allowed me to use my 32bit drivers to connect to 32 bit database with no problems.
