I'm interesting in this issue too:
I got similar messages from isql.exe on one of my client's machines.
I run isql.exe from usb drive without installing FB at all.
It works fine on all clients except that one.

It looks like isql's bug: may be isql is trying to find firebird.msg
in system wide places first, instead of places
nearest to isql.exe?

FB 2.0 and FB 2.1.2 are installed on my machine and this is reproduced only if
c:\Program Files\Firebird\Firebird_2_1\firebird.msg is replaced
with c:\Program Files\Firebird\Firebird_2_0\firebird.msg

Any idea?
