Firebird server, and both the applications along with the FDB are on the same machine only, i get the following error message 'Could not connect to the FDB the file may be in use by any other program.'

Are you running the Firebird server on a different machine than the
applications are running on? Are the applications on two different machines?
What kind of error message do you get when you run the second application?
