2008/9/22 Alan McDonald <alan@...>:
I recently tried a few replication tools from IBPhoenix and they all
were ancient and none accomplished the task I needed.
But I have a completely different approach to solve your problem:
You can set up a Terminal Server (if it's Windows, or a normal
ssh-server with X-forwarding or VNC if it's Linux) on the branch that
has direct database-access and let them work with the application over
a Remote Desktop connection.
That way the bandwidth-usage is kept pretty low and fast and LIVE
database-access is guaranteed. Further more, it feels like a much
smaller hassle and less error-prone than synchronisation.
