Hi

If you want to check if your server is running on a port you can try from
DOS promt:

telnet YOU_IP YOUR_PORT

ex. telnet localhost 3050 or telnet 127.0.0.1 3050

Your window will be turn in black ..

Paul

Subject: [firebird-support] Firebird 2_1 installation

I've installed firebird, and succeeded with running the isql.exe and
connect to database and work on it. I am using delphi inorder to
connect to the firebird database, but for some reason I can not log
into the database. The services in "manage service" of my windows os
of firebird, are running properly, and I added the port switch on the
firebird configuration.

I tried the ibWebAdmin, but when trying to connect a data base it
writes: "InterBase Error: connection rejected by remote interface ".
I believe that the port listening doesn't even work after the basic
installation.

How can I check the connectivity to the firebird, using delphi or
ibWebAdmin? what do I need to change or configure in order for that to
work? How can I check whether the port listening s on?
