Adam,
I have never, though, done any benchmarking of the environment, since we
use VM's mainly for testing and supporting legacy versions of our
product.
I can say that the Firebird Tracker site is hosted on a VMWare GSX v1.0
box, while running a Linux VM. While there have been many issues with
connectivity and the Tracker software itself, the database has been rock
solid.
I would only have concerns if you were using a VM to host a VERY active
database.
