Is that a one-shot, i.e. executeing that query will cause all statistics
to be recalculated at once?

I was thinking more like, are the statistics dynamically maintaned at
all when doing inserts, updates and deletes in indexed columns?

Or does it require "manual intervention" to get the statistics recalculated?
