Hi,
I read Craig StuntzĀ“s articel "Understanding Transaction Lifetimes"
(http://blogs.teamb.com/craigstuntz/2004/06/22/587). There he says about
Read committed, read-write transactions:
"This transaction can run forever with no negative impact on performance
if you do a commit retaining from time to time."
Is this also true for firebird (Craig is talking about InterBase 7.1)?
In the forum you often read that Commit Retaining is not a good option.
Regards,
Christian
