Try downloading the .ZIP Firebird version that does not have setup.exe
or uninst.exe and see how things go. You'll have to configure and
install the client manually though... This version does not update
the control panel, does not update user profiles or even the Registry.
The reason I say this is because if you have a system "rollback"
program installed, it will often target the "System Files" namely
registry, user profiles....
