Forced Writes = ON is really not dependent on UPS, it is about server
abends/restarts.

Unless you can *100%* guarantee that the server will **never**
restart/abend then Forced Writes = OFF is a **significant** exposure to
database corruption.

This applies to ALL Windows versions, including Win2008.

P.S. There were new settings introduced in FB v2.0 which allows you
to control the relative level of exposure, but only Forced Writes = ON
offers true protection.
