Thank you for the information.

I think the real problem right now is the connection from client to
server event in default client-server installation. To isolate the
problem, I prepare 2 desktops running winXP sp2 in one pc I just
intall the firebird server ver. 2.0.3 (server installation selected)
and the other one as client (client only installation selected).

Both pc can see each through ip connection (cmd ping).

I'm following installion guide for ver. 2.0 on the server pc and also
tested so far run accordingly. Using IBexpert personal edition the
database can be connected locally (on the server-pc).

But when I try to connect the database remotly (from the client pc
using IBexpert) always got error message kind of:
"A connection a attempt failed because the connection party didn't
properly respond after a period of time ....." what could possibly
mistake that I've done?
