No doubt you will have course books to learn SQL. You don't mention what environment you will be working in but that does matter! The more specific your questions, the better the answers you will get.
We are all volunteers here, mainly Firebird users with real jobs. We answer questions if we can, because we want to help. Unspecific questions that provide no information about what you need to do are very annoying. A study of your course outline should offer some clues about your objectives and what you need to ask about. *We* need to know details like the server version (a number) and model (Superserver, Classic, embedded), the operating system and version, the programming environment, in some cases the hardware and network environment, yadda yadda yadda...
