That's not true of InterBase 6.x, but it is true of InterBase 5.6. The
problem was recognized in 2000, before 6.0 shipped and a test was added
to keep the file pointer (a 32 bit word) from rolling over. So in
InterBase 6.0, when you hit 4GB (or just before) you got an error.
Firebird and InterBase versions after 6.0 use 64-bit file pointers
and can handle enormous files, limited by the underlying file system.
