For major sites I have VPN tunnel established (router to router)
for minor sites I use routers that support some VPN client software (ie
Linksys does) and then VPN tunnel is established: workstation to router.
If you want to give someone access to your database via Internet, think
about securing connection itself, not securing connection to database.

Connecting over the Internet is a major security issue, and the only documentation I found is the outdated "Firebird w. Zebedee" one on IBPhoenix. But since Zebedee is not updated anymore, I'm sure many of you have come up with other solutions instead.
