-- I hope you mean, one server multiple versions of firebird, and client connects to the multiple versions of firebird, as that is what the instructions were aimed at/what I am doing.

Each install uses a different port number so I'd imagine the should be no issue. Just that with two database servers the ram will be chewed up quicker. If I remember PHP correctly, the set up of the database connection takes the port number as a parameter

isql and flamerobin worked fine against my servers. I fired up a few test programs(delphi and C) against the server, they worked. I am running only one Firebird version now, new server being installed by colleagues. Once they are finished I will have a 1.5x db and a 2.0x db running on the same machine.

those instructions of mine lost their line feed/carriage returns.. not to mention my inability to write my own language perfectly
