Basically, it depends on your expected workload. Web edition support 2GB RAM
and dual-core CPUs. Standard supports 4GB RAM and quad-core CPUs. You could
still run a decently-sized database with 2GB RAM and dual-core CPU, but
databases love memory!
Other than those two factors, though, the other differences don't seem to be
anything that would affect Firebird.
