Thanks Sean, only I'm not using IBOConsole to run the query - it was
used purely to check that it wasn't my application that failed!

The application is written using Delphi 2007, using the BDE to connect
via the native INTRBASE driver. It fails in exactly the same way as
IBOConsole.

I am using the current IBOConsole v1.1.12.16 from Lorenzo Mengoni's
web site - is there a later build?
