I can't agree with your comments.. Most people are ready and willing to help.
Have you tried to get answers to MS Sqlserver problems?
Server config settings are well documented and if a user plans to
install on a raid-based Xeon server you'd hope that he/she would be a
serious user and therefore be aware of affinity masks and the like. If
you download from the Ibphoenix site the docs are all there.
I have 8 or 9 dual P3 and P4 machines, and 4 dual Xeon machines with
superserver installed and they all perform very well.
However, its hard to give specific answers to general questions, so if
Fab10 gives us some detail of the selects or stored procedures he's
running I'm sure "someone" will help.
